My dear father or mother, or guardian,
Recently, I have received a letter from you which reveals to me your concern about my health and studies. I am really glad to read it. It is to inform you that I have been ill for a fortnight. I remained under the treatment of Doctor Muhammad Saaim Ali Malik. Besides medicine, he advised me to rest for two weeks. Allah be thanked, I have now fully recovered, and now I am quite hale and hearty and pray for you the same. Therefore, I take exercise daily in the morning and play cricket in the evening. So you need not bother about my health. I have joined a club also, and I am getting training in gymnastics.
You have also asked me to write to you about my progress in studies. I am pleased to tell you that the results of my December test have recently been declared. You will be glad to know about my brilliant performance. I stood first in English and Physics, 2nd in Urdu and Biology and 3rd in Chemistry and stood second in the aggregate by securing 90% marks. My only weak point is chemistry; the salt analysis causes me a great problem. If I had secured good marks in it also, the percentage in aggregate could have been raised. Still, if I had not fallen ill before these tests, I am sure I would have topped the class in all the subjects.
Now I have engaged a tutor in chemistry. I am sure that I will show you still brighter results in the annual examination. The target for which I am struggling is to win distinction to transform your dream into reality.
The only thing needed by me is your blessings and supplications.
Yours affectionately,
X. Y. Z.
