My
dear Hamzah,
I
have just returned from my visit to Murree Hills. It was a marvelous adventure.
We
enjoyed ourselves very much. We were in a paradise on earth.
We
were a party of four boys. We went to Islamabad by bus. From there, we hired an
InDrive for Murree. The journey from Islamabad to Murree supplied a good feast
for our eyes. The winding, zigzagging roads looked like a snake crawling
through the grass. Our stay at Maree was short but worthwhile. This year, there
was an extraordinary rush of visitors. The hotels were doing a roaring
business. Even worthless foodstuffs were sold at high rates. We were lucky
enough to get a room in a hotel near the mall.
The
tall trees on the high mountains looked like giants clothed in green robes.
Each hut on the hilltop seemed to be a doll's house. People in colorful clothes
looked fresh and cheerful. At night, the heights looked like twinkling stars in
the sky. The weather remained quite pleasant Murree. The nights were wet and cold,
but the days were hot, the sun sometimes blazed but its heat was tolerable. But
the lack of water, heaps of garbage, the dearness of edibles, and devilish
activities of the sons of “beggars-turned-barons” created a negative impression
on the visitors. Overall, it was an enjoyable trip. I missed you much at every
step. Next time, I invite you to go with us to this hill station.
Yours
sincerely,
Asad
