A Wealthy Merchant
Every situation is not always after man's will.
Sometimes, an apparent favorable situation proves fatal whereas an apparent adverse
situation proves a blessing of Allah as in this story.
Once Upon a time, an honest wealthy merchant lived
in a town. He would carry his goods to the big city to sell them and earn profit.
Once, on a business tour, he earned a lot of profit. In those days, there was no
banking system. People had to carry cash with them to other places. On that day,
he was returning to his native town in a very happy mood. Suddenly, there came
a windstorm followed by heavy rain. He stopped his horse and started abusing
rain. He was much upset and worried because it was getting dark. As soon as the
rain stopped, he resumed his journey. He had covered a short distance through the
Jungle that he found the way blocked by a fallen tree.
The very instant he was overtaken by a robber. That
robber ordered him to hand him over all the cash and his horse. It was a very
critical situation. The Merchant did not want to lose his hard-earned money. He
did not yield to the robber.
As a result, there was a duel. The robber got furious.
So, he pulled the trigger of his pistol to kill the merchant. The trigger worked
but the bullet shot missed. As good luck for the merchant, the gunpowder had
become wet due to rain. The merchant begins to beat the bandit. As a result, the
bandit had to run away.
Then the merchant realized that the rain was not a
trouble but a blessing in disguise
MORAL: Blessing in Disguise.
