William Cowper says: "God made the country, the man made the town”. A village is a small town situated in a country area. A village usually consists of a few mud houses, small huts, and stone houses. A village is a very lovely and charming place. Beautiful natural scenes are its greatest charms.

Their nature is always in full swing. The thick growth of trees forms tunnels. The place looks like a paradise on earth. There are green trees, vast meadows, flowery bushes, and murmuring streams. The fields growing crops are beautiful and charming sights. There are comfortable shady places under trees. The old people often gossip there. The spring season visits the village earlier than it does any other place. Flowers go on blooming even late in the year.

Life in our villages is very simple, peaceful, and natural. The villagers are the children of nature. They are simple, sincere, and frank. They are hypocrisy and artificiality. They have no high ambitions in life. They lead a contented life.

They enjoy real peace of mind because they are free from the unnecessary responsibilities of life. Therefore, they can enjoy sound sleep unlike the people in cities.

Life in a village is very peaceful. It is free from the dust and noise of traffic, as well as the smoke and dirt produced by the factories. Its atmosphere is pollution-free.

The villagers enjoy fresh air, open sunshine, and beautiful scenes of nature like green fields, tall hills, murmuring streams, birds, etc. There is no fear of adulteration as faced by the people living in cities. The flour, milk, ghee, vegetables, and other things of daily use can be available pure, fresh, and cheap. Therefore, villagers enjoy better health and look like more vigorous people than the people living in cities.

Life in the village is very enjoyable because of the love and brotherhood among the people of the village. They know one another personally and like to share the joys and sorrows of others. If there is a marriage or a funeral in anyone's house, the whole village takes part in it. Therefore, the village people do not feel lonely in times of distress as in big cities where the next-door neighbors do not know each other. The villagers have enough time to sit with one another to gossip over a round of hubble-bubble.

The villagers have a few but very healthy recreations. They love to play games like Kabaddi, Football, Volleyball, etc. Hunting, horse racing, and tent-pegging are popular sports among villagers.

The fairs, festivals, and harvesting create great excitement in the life of villagers. Fairs are the special features of villagers. Theaters, folk dances, and sports are the important features of a village fair. These fairs are held when the fanners are free from work. So, the villagers warmly participate in them and get maximum fun and thrill.

Village life in Pakistan has some drawbacks. Most of the villagers are far away from the cities and markets. There are no facilities for transport, electricity, hospital, or educational institutions for different kinds of education and higher education. Therefore, a vast majority of people remain uneducated, backward, and poor. The government should take special steps to provide all facilities of life to the villagers.
