USES OF MOBILE PHONE
Letter
to the editor on Mobile Phone addiction among teenagers
The
Editor,
The
Daily “Dawn”,
Karachi.
Through
the columns of your newspaper, I want to draw the attention of our youth,
parents and public to the use of mobile phones. Our youth is addicted to mobile
phones in this era. The unnecessary use of mobile phones has exerted a negative
impact on our youth. They waste their time in useless talk. They chat or send
SMS just for fun and joy. It has left bad effects on their studies. As a
mobile phone offers a lot of features, It has made life easy. Now a mobile
phone works as a radio, a Walkman, a theatre, a TV, a dictionary, a video game,
a computer, a calculator, a calendar, a watch, a stopwatch, a camera, a flashlight, a letter pad, a voice record and a recorder keeper. It provides the
services like SMS’s, audio calls, video calls, Images, e-mails, MMS's etc. Thus,
our youth is attracted to the excessive use of mobile phones.
Mobile the phone is a big cause of wastage of both time and money. Besides this, it causes a disturbance during the study. It has also caused a moral decline in our youth. Immoral
messages, unethical pictures and long calls have made our youth emotionally sick.
Mobile phones are now causing physical and psychological problems as well. All
this discussion shows that we should urge our students not to keep mobile
phones with them. The use of mobile phones in academic institutions should be
banned strictly. The parents, teachers and the government should also take
steps to stop this tendency of using mobile phones.
Yours faithfully,
