Poem# 5

In The Street Of Fruit Stalls

Text & Explanation

Reference:

These lines have been taken from the poem “In the street of Fruit Stall” written by “Jan Stallworthy.”

Context:

It is a highly symbolic poem. The poet wants to say that man is instinctively inclined towards joy, whereas, the world is facing the dangers of war, misery and poverty. But the children are unaware of these dangers. They enjoy the simple delights of life in their own innocent way. The beauty and charm of the poem lie in its symbolic version.
