A TALE OF TWO CITIES

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:-

Q /1: Why do the people look powerless and helpless?

Ans: The people look powerless and helpless because they cannot defend against Great War. The effects of a war spread everywhere.

Q /2: Under what circumstances the victims had to pass through?

                                                       OR

         Describe the scene of devastation (great destruction)?

Ans: A large number of people were killed, burnt and crushed. Their properties were destroyed. Two atomic explosions destroyed the cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Q /3: What is the moral lesson of the poem?

Ans: The moral lesson is that wars should be banned. All atomic weapons should be destroyed. All problems should be solved through peaceful means.

Q /4: How did the Japanese recreate their glory after the atomic attack / Great War?

                                                     OR

         How did the Japanese bear / face the pains of black day / atomic attack?

                                                    OR
       What have the Japanese done out of the ashes, according to the poet in the poem?

Ans: The Japanese were great people. They bore / faced the pains of black day / atomic attack with courage and raised the two cities to utmost glory with their hard work. They rose again and became the world economic power.
