Fortune Favors The Bold

Constant effort and regular work cause certain success. Hopelessness causes defeat. That's why; it is said that disappointment is a sin. So we should not lose heart in the face of difficulties but rather make strenuous efforts to succeed because defeat is a step to success as fortune favors the bold story.

Fortune Favors The Bold or Brave

Robert Bruce was the king of Scotland. His country was occupied by the tyrant British.  So, he fought seventeen battles to liberate his country from the despotic dictatorship and the brutality of the English. He had to suffer defeat every time. Once he made high preparations to fight a decisive battle. He was certain that he would prevail with regard to driving the English out of his nation consequently, he battled frantically and valiantly. But luck did not favor him and he had to run away from the battlefield. Dejected, and hopeless, he had himself in a cave and began to scold his ill luck. He was so crabbed and afflicted that he agreed to give up his attempts to win freedom. Having on his brain with his thoughts and lying in the cave, he caught view of a small spider that was vexing to escalate the wall to reach its cobweb.

It attempted ordinarily to arrive at its spider web, however, tumbled down like clockwork. “You foolish mini creature! The spider web is excessively high for you to climb up. Be resigned to your lot and live somewhere else,” he said to the spider. When the insect failed in the ninth attempt, the king was sure that it would make no more effort. But to his great surprise, the spider began to climb the wall for the tenth time also. This time, achievement turned into its parcel, and it arrived at its spider web. The king thought, “If a tiny spider can achieve its target by not losing heart but making a consistent struggle, why can't I?”

He was energized so much that he got a new ardor to resume the attempt. He mustered up all his scattered forces and attacked the opponent with a new zeal and zest. This time he prevailed with regard to driving the English out of his nation and winning opportunities for his country. He realized. "Constant dripping wears away the stone."

Moral:

  • God helps those who help themselves.
  • Fortune favors the bold or brave.
  • Disappointment is a sin.
