“The
mediocre, teacher tells,
the
good teacher explains,
the
superior teacher demonstrates,
but
the great teacher inspires”
(William Arthur Ward)
Teaching
is a very Great and Nobel Profession. An ideal teacher is the friend and guide
of his students. He takes personal concern in their studies and comforts them
inside and outside the classes.
Every
student has his favorite and ideal teacher. I have been taught by many teachers.
Some of them have influenced me much through their personal qualities and knowledge.
I awe all my teachers and have the privilege to be admired by them all. But in spite of my respect for all the teachers, Prof. Wasif Ali Wasif is my favorite
teacher at college. He is my ideal teacher. I adore him for his good
qualities and vast and sound knowledge. He teaches us English. He is very
popular with his students. All the students hold him in great esteem. He has dedicated
his life to the noble cause of education. He takes passion in his work and
teaches the students with a missionary spirit.
“A
teacher who is attempting to teach without inspiring the pupil with a desire to
learn is hammering on cold iron”.
(Horace
Mann)
He
is a highly capable teacher. His approach to teaching is very superb. Even a
third-grade student can follow his lecture easily. He heartens the students who
ask questions during or after his lecture. He answers their questions in a very
affable way and assuages the students to the great extent.
He
has sedate habits and a gentle inclination. He is always well-dressed. He has a dynamic, radiant, and
impressive personality. He is a religious-minded teacher who guides his
students in religious matters also. He is, no doubt, a true scholar and a
practical person. He acts what he preaches. That is why he is equally popular
with the students and other teachers at college.
He
is a punctual teacher. He always takes and leaves his classes on time. He never
likes to miss his classes. He has also been the Controller of Examinations at the college. He always performs his duties diligently and honestly.
He
is a true seeker of knowledge. He is good at English, Arabic, Urdu, and Punjabi.
He has a sound knowledge of Islam. The teachers often seek guidance from him in
religious affairs. He is a true and staunch Muslim who holds a firm belief in
following the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). He goes on to teach us the abilities of truth and justice.
In
short, Prof. Wasif Ali Wasif is an embodiment of all the good qualities of head and
heart. He is an ideal teacher, and I am proud of being his pupil. May God bless him
with all his bounties!
“A
teacher affects eternity;
no
one can tell where his influence stops”.
(Henry
Adams)
