“It
takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to
stand up to our friends.”
J.K. Rowling
Frequently
people speak of two types of courage, that is, physical and moral courage.
Physical courage means eagerness to face risks, to contest against snags and to
make a bold struggle.
Ethical
courage is of a complex quality than physical courage. It means the courage to
speak the truth and to do the exact thing deprived of caring about the outcomes.
It also means readiness to accept one's faults or mistakes. We make use of force
of character while screening moral courage.
Any mortal who
wants to flourish well in life should have physical as well as moral courage.
He should be ready to face dangers and difficulties physically. And, he should also be ready to express his
ideas and beliefs openly. If he can show the external strength of the physique, he
should also be able to show the internal strength of character. He must always be organized
to sustenance truth and justice.
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really
are.”
E.E. Cummings
A truly courageous person succeeds in life sooner or later. If he does not succeed in
achieving his aims for some time, he does not lose heart and goes on trying to
achieve them. For example, a student may not be able to pass his examination in
his first attempt. He may pass it very simply and well in his second effort. An over-all
may be conquered in a firm battle. He may flourish in another, the greater the battle
at another place. A trader may suffer great losses sometime later. Thus, all
these individuals flourish through the courage to face catastrophes in life.
