These lines have been taken from the poem 'A Tale of
Two Cities' written by John Peter.
Context:
The poet describes the 'pains and
pangs' of the people of two cities of Japan who had to be the ravages of atomic
explosions by the Allied forces, But they proved themselves determined and
emerged as a strong nation. The poet asks mankind society on the principles
of equality and justice.
