A thirsty crow (Standard)

It was hot on a day in summer. Crow felt very thirsty. He had no water to drink for the last many hours. He flew here and there in search of water but he could not find any in the neighborhood. At last, he saw a pitcher on the roof of a house. The crow happily flew to the pitcher. He saw into it and found a little water at its bottom. He tried to drink water but could not succeed because the water was very low. His beak could not reach it. He felt disappointed because he did not know how to quench his thirst. However, he did not lose heart. All of a sudden, he thought of a plan. He saw a heap of pebbles at some distance. He started bringing pebbles one by one and dropping them into the pitcher. After sometime, the water rose to the brink of the pitcher. The crow drank water to his fill and flew away crying happily.

Morals:

  • Necessity is the mother of invention.
  • God helps those who help themselves.
  • He who seeks finds.
  • Where there is a will, there is a way.
  • Try and you will find.
